According to Anwar’s senior press secretary Osman Marajeh in a daily briefing, Malaysia and the United States will discuss topics related to Malaysia’s role as the incoming ASEAN chair in 2025, particularly the preparations for the ASEAN-US Special Summit, during a meeting between Anwar and the US Ambassador to Malaysia.

The US is not only one of ASEAN’s largest trading partners but also the largest investor in the region.
